APSARA are a Tribal-Nouveau Temple Dance Troupe based in Portland Oregon, founded by NagaSita in 2009 . With a divinitive ceremonial approach originally inspired by Serpentine, Apsara embraces the sacred in movement to delight and inspire audiences through an opulent display of ritual theatre. Together their dance embodies a vision of strength, splendor and devotion to the divine. Their style is a blend of Tribal Fusion, Indian classical temple dance, and Turkish/Romani bellydance. Apsara’s of ancient lore are the enchantresses of the celestial court ~ born from the sea to dance in the heavens. APSARA has had the honor of performing with CHEB I SABBAH at The Anahata Festival, DAVID STARFIRE at the FILLMORE SF, opened for The Indigo’s LE SERPENT ROUGE, and danced with world renowned musicians STELLAMARA, they were the house troupe for Portland’s legendary Eastern Nouveau dance showcase SALON L’ORIENT while also frequenting many tribal bellydance events in the Pacific NW region including TRIBAL FEST 11,12 & 13, The Portland Masquerade Ball and TRANSCEND.
